WHAT TO WEAR —

the golden rule : Mom gets to choose what she wears first, and everyone coordinates around her!!

texture + clothes that move are the camera’s best friend (think linen, silks, flowy dresses, knits, etc)

don’t be afraid of prints + color. you don’t have to wear neutrals or all white if that isn’t you! If you’re wearing prints, choose smaller prints rather than larger ones that could be distracting.

babies (under 1) look best in a simple onesie or minimal layers. too many layers of clothing end up getting bunched up when you snuggle them!

less formal looks lend themselves to more comfort + more authenticity for everyone to run, move, snuggle, and be themselves. cozy sweaters, knit lounge sets, a satin nightgown, sweats, a simple t-shirt + jeans — the sky’s the limit here!

makeup tends to photograph a few shades duller, so feel free to go a bit bolder than you normally would. also feel free to wear no makeup at all if that feels better to you.

treat yourself to a manicure + pedicure. often, I will get close-up shots of hands snuggling, so it’s always nice to have fresh nails (no chipped polish) for these images!

if you need some visual help, I’ve created a Pinterest board with inspiration + fashion ideology for our shoot together.

The number one thing I need from you is your trust—

To get the best results, I need you to be present, to be vulnerable. Try not to worry about your clothes or your hair, your kids acting wild, or about how the photos will turn out. Just relax, enjoy time with your kids, and enjoy the process.

This way we will establish a beautiful relationship which allows me to really see you, and in turn, create photos that you can look back on for years to come. I want to create a meaningful experience, make space for your family to be themselves fully, and be more than just a photographer.
