SUMMERTIME (and the livin’ is easy): A poolside, sunny, colorful in-home family session

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Kristen and her beautiful family in Nashville last summer. I was visiting from Auckland, and we were lucky enough to be able to schedule a shoot together!

Kristen’s home was sooooo beautiful. So much color and personality — beautiful, thoughtful touches everywhere you looked. They had just brought their brand new baby boy home, and boy did we have some fun documenting their newest member!

Her older son, Parker, was so excited to show me around their home…including all his favorite toys, baseball gear, crafty creations and of course, his new baby brother.

We snapped some photos around their home before heading out to the pool so Parker could show me what an awesome swimmer he is!

Sessions like this are my absolute favorite — we’re simply hanging out, the family is doing what they usually do, while I happen to be there to photograph it.

I also shot some Super 8 video, which turned out beautifully. The combination of film photos + Super 8 is theeee most gorgeous and timeless.
